Selection Process
City of Doraville Application: Complete application form and submit all required documentation. Certified Voice Stress Analysis: All applicants are required to take a Voice Stress Analysis. The CVSA is administered at no charge to the applicant.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS
POWER Test: The exercises comprising the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report include the following:
- 1.5 Mile Run
- 1 Minute Sit Up
- Sit and Reach
- Bench Press
POWER Test Standards Information and Chart
Psychological Evaluation: All applicants are required to take a psychological examination. The psychological is administered by the department’s psychological consultant at no charge to the applicant.
Background Investigation: A background investigator will conduct a thorough background for all applicants.
Personal Interview: Applicants must demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate in a structured interview process, which requires the applicant to respond to common police scenarios.
CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT
Toxicology Examination (Drug Screen): All applicants must submit to a toxicology examination by a company selected by the City of Doraville.
Complete Medical Examination: All applicants must submit to a medical examination. There is no charge for this physical.
