Assistant Chief B.C. Harris

Assistant Chief’s Bio

Assistant Chief Harris is a 29-year law enforcement veteran. He was appointed to Assistant Chief of Police at the Doraville Police Department in October 2021 and is a retired Assistant Chief of Police from the DeKalb County Police Department. He is a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a Master of Arts degree in History from the American Military University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. Assistant Chief Harris is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute, Administrative Officers Course, Class 127. In addition, Assistant Chief Harris retired as a Major General with 39 years’ service from the United States Army National Guard.
