The DeKalb County Police Alliance hosted its 4th Annual Police Officer's Ball on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel.

Some 300 police officers, spouses, community leaders and law enforcement supporters turned out to salute DeKalb finest. The gala event raises money officer benefits and DCPA events.

This year’s event featured a performance by singer/ songwriter, Erica Nicole, a Georgia native and budding country music star.

The event also included a silent auction and the presentation of the 2010 DeKalb Public Safety Champion Awards.  

Doraville’s own Chief King received the award for his high standard of professionalism and contributions to public safety.

Residents, Jerry Cullen and James Floyd took home awards for their efforts to launch the Northwoods Neighborhood Watch Program.  

Cullen and Floyd were nominated by Chestnut Place resident and civic leader, Carol Gillman.

Other Doravillians present included Mayor Pro Tem Pittman, Councilwoman Karen Pachuta, Major Chuck Atkinson, Captain Rodney Brinkley and Charlene Fang.
