Doraville police arrested 2 suspects today, when a burglary in progress call was sent out.
In the middle of the day, Doraville Police received a call of a burglary in progress in the Oakcliff Neighborhood; officers responded immediately. Within minutes of the 911 call, the search was on, as the area was quickly saturated with as many a 12 Doraville officers.
One suspect was picked up quickly and arrested, while the second barely eluded a K-9 track that eventually led officers in the right direction and to the apprehension of the second suspect.
During the interview of the suspects, police were able to gather enough information to obtain a search warrant for one of the suspect’s residence.
Detectives and uniformed officers served the warrant and were able to connect items found at the suspect’s residence to at least 7 other burglaries in and around Doraville.
Chief John King stated, "Our department will use every tool at our disposal to insure the safety and protection of Doraville's citizens and their homes. I am proud of the speed that our K-9 and officers were able to track the suspects and get them into custody."
Detectives believe that this arrest today will lead to solving a number of other burglaries. The investigation is still ongoing.
