I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from all of our community. My special thanks to the library staff for setting up not only my presentation but the series of presentations for our community.
As we enter the height of the summer, our children and friends are enjoying our parks. Please keep in mind that although we have a very safe community in which our residents and law enforcement work closely together, we must take prudent common sense precautions. When at all possible, a responsible adult should be present with children in the parks. We have spent a great deal of taxpayer funds to repair and update our parks and must do our best to continue to maintain them. If you see anyone misusing or damaging our facilities, please call 911 so we can have our officers respond.
The Police Department is doing their best to continue providing the absolute best service possible. As you well know the current economic situation has also affected our budget. We are again trying to do more with less, understanding that we must hold the line not only against criminals but also by cutting our overall budget.
I am committed to continuing our public safety education programs. We will be leading a series of presentations with crime suppression and prevention in mind; I ask you to attend and give us recommendations on what programs are of interest to you as residents and business owners.
